Cooking With Bones Giveaway

When Jess Richards' second novel, Cooking With Bones, was released last year, I called it 'vivid and intoxicating', and praised the author's 'ability to write with powerful imagination and invent distinctive voices for her characters'. It was also admired by the likes of David Hebblethwaite at Bookmunch, who described Richards as 'a major new voice in British fantastic literature', and Blair at Learn This Phrase, who said it was 'beautifully written, lyrical and evocative'.

The novel follows two sisters as they run away from home in the dystopian town of Paradon, eventually finding themselves in the rural community Seachant, where an old witch's cookbook helps the elder sister to give expression to her desires for the first time.

Cooking With Bones is out now in paperback, including an interview I conducted with Ms Richards, and I've got a few copies to give away courtesy of Sceptre; if you'd like one, send an email to workshyfopblog[at]gmail.com by Sunday 16th February. Winners will be randomly selected.
